  In 2013, when we realized that over 55% of the households in India did not have toilets, we got inspired to enter the construction market of sanitation based on our past experience and registered a company Udaygeeth Construction Pvt Ltd.

  Our dream is to provide health and dignity to the people who need basic sanitation facilities and sustainable houses.

  Since then we have diversified and moved into construction of houses for microhousing loan customers and prospective customers of affordable housing.

  We partner with microfinance institutions (MFIs), banks, Small Finance Banks (SFBs), and Housing Finance Companies (HFCs) for housing construction while we continue to work with corporates and NGOs for toilet construction.

Meet the team





  Prefers to call himself a bare-foot banker since he has spent 16 years in Syndicate Bank as Rural Development Officer and has done his best, working in some of the most difficult areas along the Western Ghats. In 1998, he quit his job to join HDFC Ltd’s Microfinance Institution (MFI)- IASC- a maiden effort in microfinance in India. As CEO of IASC from the inception of the institution, he took the MFI to an enviable position in ten years’ time. Under his stewardship, IASC became the first in the country to take up individual financing to SHG members and was the first to have a menu of verticals for financing micro-housing, sanitation, debt redemption, etc. He was instrumental in getting the coveted UN Global Compact Award in 2002 for HDFC Ltd.

  From December 2011 to February 2016 he was the Country Director of and worked as Director, Catalytic Finance till his retirement on 18th August 2017. He and his team in India have strived to reach out to over eight lakh families in India for providing microfinance for construction of individual household toilets and household water connections in rural and semi-urban areas. While working in he was instrumental in getting Water and Sanitation loans included under the Priority Sector Lending list of the RBI.

  Based on the interest developed by him in sanitation since 2002, he motivated his wife and son to start Udaygeeth Constructions in 2013. He is a BSc (Agri) Hons graduate of BHU (1977) and MSc (Agril Econ) post graduate from TNAU Coimbatore (1979).




  She is an educationist with over 20 years of experience, who has served as an English teacher in Chinmaya Vidyalaya Coimbatore and Vice Principal, Chid Vikas Coimbatore and as Senior Research Associate EZ Vidya Chennai. Apart from the school curriculum, she had always given importance in imparting health & hygiene and etiquette to the children. Her travels to the rural India made her understand about the open-defecation issue and its ill-effects on the rural-population. She and her son Abhishek founded UGCPL, with the primary goal of building low-cost toilets to the people who lack them. She regularly connects with people, knowing their problems and requirements. With extensive knowledge in the field of toilet-construction, she along with her dedicated team have built several toilets, benefitting many individuals. She was the Managing Director of the company from inception to 2018. She is a post graduate in English Literature.




  A Mechanical engineer, with a vision of implementing his education and experience for the benefit of the society. He is a Post graduate in Manufacturing systems management and MBA. He is very passionate about his work and is involved in developing cost efficient building techniques toilet and microhousing construction. He is providing the company the latest techniques in supply chain management.
